ABOUT US

3DGolfDesign is the brainchild of lead artist Mike Jones. Mike started his journey in golf as a professional golfer after joining the training ranks of the Professional Golfers Association (P.G.A.) in 1989, after several successful years as a keen amateur golfer. Mike was awarded a prestigious Titleist scholarship placing 5th out of all the trainees in the UK and joined the P.G.A as a full member in 1993.

Mike went on to play professional tournament golf in over twenty countries around the world, competing in several full European tour events and representing Europe in the P.G.A. Cup against the USA at 'The Broadmoor', Colorado in 1998.

After injury cut short his professional career, Mike continued to pursue his love of golf. After being a long time observer and student of golf course architecture throughout his playing career, he began to use C.A.D software to realise his own ideas in a digital format. So successful was he at this, that Microsoft commissioned him to create a 'virtual' golf course for use in their golf simulator 'Microsoft Links'. Mike's creation, 'Ayrshire Dunes', a fully digital golf course, was released at retail worldwide in 2001.

Soon after this it became obvious that the photorealism of his work would be a perfect match for real world golf architects and developers and thus Mike formed 3DGolfDesign. For the creators and developers of golf complexes, the ability to show stunning and realistic views of their plans and ideas at an early stage of the process is invaluable. Photorealistic renderings or 'virtual photos' and simulated hole flybys need little explanation to the viewer and have the 'Wow' effect that normal 2D dimensional plans do not.

Since then, Mike and 3DGolfDesign have provided their 'Digital Art' to many of the worlds top golf designers and have helped bring a multitude of unique golf projects to fruition. The creation process is a combination of technology and art to ensure that not only do the images of the prospective holes and courses look attractive, but also to make sure that they are accurate and realistic too - the best possible combination.

Our visuals and graphics can help sell existing projects before they are completed and also help to secure funding and sales for new projects in the design and planning stages. Whether you are an architect bidding for a course restoration or redesign contract or a developer looking for some stunning marketing material, 3DGolfDesign can provide a solution. Our work can also be incorporated into a complete marketing and sales package of which more details can be be found on our partners page.
